If you have driven past the remains of Vanelli’s on North Gloster, you’ll notice the changes. We’re carefully deconstructing the shell of the building, left useless by the April 28 tornado.
You’ll also notice over on the other side of Tupelo, in Veterans Park, work crews preparing ground over by the Neely meeting room behind the Aquatic Center. That preparation will see the pavilion from Vanelli’s after it’s torn down and reconstructed.
Vanelli’s patio – or pavilion – was not damaged by the tornado. vOz donated the structure to the city, and city leaders decided to place the building in Veterans Park for people to use for events – or just to gather.
